Tetelestai
There is one word
Not many know
Though its meaning
Strong and clear
He cried it aloud
When He was dying
On the cross
At Calvary
Six other statements
He made that day
And none of them
Insignificant
And even though
Each truly great
I find this one
Magnificent
Father God, forgive them
They know not what they do
He prayed to God in Heaven
Still loving me and you
To the thief that hung beside him
He gave these words of hope
Today to Paradise you will go
His sin God did revoke
Eloi Eloi Lema Sabachthani
He cried when all went black
For all our sins He did carry
As God then turned His back
Then to Mary, He gave John
And to John He did give Mary
Mother and son they now become
Each other they would carry
Through all the pain and suffering
His thirst became so great
A wine filled sponge they offered Him
With vinegar to add some taste
Into Your hands I commit My Spirit
He cried to His Father above
Just one more shall be heard
All this was done in love
And what He said in final breath
He said in Victory
Clear and true His voice did cry
His final word, Tetelestai
The Bible has just three small words
Its translation does lack some
What we read says, “It is finished”
But He used only one
He did not say that He was finished
For this was not the case
Tetelestai is what He cried
His actions full of grace
What this word means, what it defines
Is an act or job completed
Never again throughout all time
Need it be repeated

Goodbye
The sun was only in its morn
The day that you were gone
I had no fear but it was time to mourn
Your face it always shone
Did you have to go my love
Like a bird that is in flight
Times we spent were from above
But you did lose the fight
How I wish that you were here
To see our children grow
Yet this was not meant to be
And now the sun is low
When we lose the one we love
And when we say our goodbyes
It's then we realise what we had
As we wipe the tears from our eyes
